India hold nerve to seal series 2-1

India defeated West Indies by 4 wickets in the last match of the three match ODI series on Sunday. In this match played at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, West Indies scored 315 for five wickets in the first 50 overs. India won the match by scoring 316 runs for 6 wickets in 48.4 overs. With this victory, Team India won the series 2–1. This is the 10th consecutive series win against the Windies.

India also chased down the biggest target in Cuttack. The record of last biggest run chase at Cuttack was also recorded in the name of Team India. Then India achieved the target of 273 runs in 2008 against England. Rohit Sharma was adjudged Man of the Series and Kohli was adjudged Man of the Match.

Rohit Sharma returned to the pavilion after scoring 63 runs. He was caught by Shai Hope off Jason Holder. He shared a 122-run partnership for the first wicket with Lokesh Rahul. Rohit hit his 43rd half-century. Rahul was out after scoring 77 runs. Rahul hit his fifth half-century. Shreyas Iyer was dismissed for 7 runs. He was caught by Joseph off Chemo Paul. Rishabh Pant (7) was bowled by Paul. Sheldon Cottrell then bowled Kedar Jadhav (9).

Evin Lewis was out for 21 as the first wicket. Navdeep caught Jadeja’s marigold. Lewis shared a 57-run partnership for the first wicket with Hope. Hope returned to the pavilion after scoring 42 runs. Mohammed Shami bowled him. Hetmyer returned to the pavilion after scoring 37 off 33 balls. Navadip got him caught by Kuldeep Yadav. This is his first wicket in ODIs. He then bowled Roston Chase. Chase scored 38 off 48 balls.
