Under ‘Mission June’, the Uttar Pradesh Government launch massive vaccination drive to vaccinate 10 million people against COVID-19, starting from 1st June.

Approximately, 6000 vaccination centres will be set up in all 75 districts, aiming all sections of the society to inoculate, safeguarding it’s people from raging wave of Coronavirus disease. The drive will focus on beneficiaries of both age groups, including 18+ and 45 above.

CM Yogi Adityanath addressing COVID-19 review meeting, said, “Our goal is to give shots to one crore people in the month of June. We have a sufficient amount of vaccine vials available to meet our target.” He even instructed the health officials to stay in constant touch with the Centre and vaccine manufacturing companies, so to maintain no gap in vaccine supply.

CM Yogi announced special vaccination drive from 15th June for socially and economically weaker section of the society like drivers, vendors, and rickshaw pullers, stating free vaccine jabs to be given to them.

Special vaccination camps have already set up by the state government for journalists, government employees and members of the judiciary in each district – one for the district court, two for government employees, and one for the media personnel.

Lockdown relaxation to be announced in districts with less than 600 active cases. Total 55 districts in UP have less then 600 active positive cases and the number will increase to 61 on Monday. Currently, the number of active cases in reported in UP is 2,280 which is a drastic drop from, 38,000, per day.

Till date, 34,80,181 people of Uttar Pradesh have received both vaccine doses, and 1,83,32,104 people have been jabbed with at least one dose.  Almost two-thirds of those receiving at least one dose belong to the 45 and above age group. In the 18-44 age group, over 34 lakh people have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
