Who would have thought it, but a young, junior senator from New York could actually dream of hosting a gala meal like the proverbial works of art?
But because first things first, it was probably the requisite Home Alone, Ray Charles meets The Blues Brothers themed party for the law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell, that Amy Schumer attended on Thursday night.
Emily Ratajkowski, Diane von Furstenberg, Matthew Broderick, Mike Tyson, Robert De Niro, and President Barack Obama also attended the special room-scaling dinner at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan – a private gala event for a good cause – with Hillary Clinton’s former aide Huma Abedin leading the packing of attendees.
Davis Polk & Wardwell, the law firm home to Andrew Cuomo, paid a whole heap of cash for all those guests – who were each treated to a three-course meal and drinks – a total of $1.65 million (£1.1m).
Rihanna, Matt Damon, Richard Gere, and Larry David were also on hand for the fun.
The event, dubbed “ACFTBA (All In Together),” was on the eve of New York’s highly coveted annual awards ceremony for the Oscars, CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), held annually at Lincoln Center in NYC.
