Rep. Elijah Cummings responds to Bannon's resignation: GOP needs to "recover" $30,000 of his salary

Update from Congressman Elijah Cummings in response to Steve Bannon’s resignation:

“In my opinion, every penny of Mr. Bannon’s fees should be returned to the Federal taxpayers. I also will look to see what other avenues we have to recover these fees, which the taxpayers should not be required to pay for.”

In an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal on Monday, he wrote, “Today I am turning myself in on charges by my former colleagues in Congress of contempt. If convicted, I could be spending up to six months in federal prison. I will not resign.”
